Custom Designed & Built Queen size Bed Frame

Custom Designed & Built Queen size Bed Frame

Our Park Slope, Brooklyn client had a small but beautiful apartment, and wanted a bed frame that stayed low to the ground, allowing in more natural light. We designed and crafted this Queen sized enclosed bed frame, stained in a cherry colored hue. The curvature on the head and foot board was specifically designed to add a bit of warmth and shape to the very sleek, modern environment.

Vintage Children's Rocking Chair, Before

Vintage Children's Rocking Chair, Before

This miniature vintage rocking chair was a fantastic discovery for one of our clients. Despite its small size, it required a lot of work. Here it is shown in its before stage, with the stained plastic, uneven nailheads, and scuffed wood legs.

For our client, we scouted and sourced a fun vintage fabric that fit their interior color and design scheme, which skews mod. We reupholstered the entire chair, and hand stitched double welt cording on the insides of the arms, without using glue as many reupholsterers often do. New nail heads were applied to the back of the chair.  The wood legs were refinished and stained to their original hue. Here is the finished product, ready for delivery to the client.

Antique Rocking Chair, Before

Years of use had an effect on this antique rocker. The wood was worn, spindles were loose, and the overall piece was in need of TLC. We restored the look of the wood via a method of sanding, staining, and lacquering, and tightened the spindles and legs so that it was as steady as it was pretty.

Vintage Weiman Mahogany Table, Before

Vintage Weiman Mahogany Table, Before

This incredible vintage table, circa 1930's was in rough shape when it arrived at the DDS workshop. While it featured beautiful marquetry and inlays, the top and sides were worn away with deep scratches and scuffs. In order to smooth out the ridges in the wood, we delicately hand sanded all facets of the table before staining to its original hue.

Custom Built Patterning Table for a Tailor

When a high profile celebrity menswear patternmaker and custom tailor approached us to design and craft an authentic patterning table, we jumped at the opportunity. We received some history and design prerequisites from the client, but largely had to design this to new specs. Here is the table close to the finishing stage.
